Sales Executive, SUSE Embedded, US West Region

The expectation of this role is to hunt for new opportunities both within your assigned accounts and within your region. You will be responsible for understanding the SUSE portfolio and increasing the SUSE solution footprint within your accounts and your region. This requires you to be methodical in your approach but creative in finding ways to cultivate more business. This requires a knowledge and expertise to understand how to navigate within the SUSE organization and how to leverage the resources available. You will also be responsible in creating relationships within your accounts and region and then expanding those relationships horizontally and vertically with the ultimate goal of exceeding sales quota. You will be expected to connect with executives, to meet customer requirements, and to drive awareness of SUSE embedded initiatives.

Core Requirements

  • 10+ years direct sales experience selling enterprise software and solutions
  • Solid understanding of the Linux and open source ecosystem
  • Ability to explain the business benefits of Linux, open source and SUSE solutions
  • Knowledge of embedded software solutions and embedded operating systems
  • Strong track record of exceeding sales quota attainment
  • Aggressive sales approach to uncover incremental opportunities within accounts
  • Success closing high-value contract negotiations
  • Ability to forecast accurately
  • Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively work independently and remotely
  • Technical proficiency and mastery understanding of an enterprise technology stack
  • Ability to travel up to 50%

  • Experience demonstrating financial, business, and industry insights into a consultative selling environment
  • Strong experience developing business with new initiatives and new territories
  • Persistently attempts to understand a client's strategy, business priorities and initiatives
  • Understands the need to collaborate with internal virtual team members to meet customer requirements
  • Experience articulating company strategy to customer organizations at various levels
  • Strong recognition of the need to plan and engage in substantive conversations and complex negotiations
  • Strong presentation and demonstration skills with experience presenting to customers

Other Requirements

  • Ability to visit customers regularly in the western US
  • Ideal position location in the western US
