Description

The Technical Enablement Specialist will play a key role in furthering the engagement and enablement of SUSE’s global field sales force, for both our internal employees and our partners, with a specific focus on partner pre-sales, technical sales engineers. Technical Sales Enablement assists in the development of technical sales skills and knowledge by providing a structured curriculum of training and tools to address the needs of our technical sellers world-wide. This is an individual contributor role, reporting to the Director of Technical Training with responsibilities that include developing technical sales enablement content, coordination with global sales engineer and corporate marketing teams, and presenting training courses to groups of salespeople and sales engineers.  The successful candidate will combine a solid understanding of sales dynamics and SUSE solution and product positioning into technical sales enablement resources that drive value and revenue.  The role requires passion, creativity and excellent communications skills that are balanced by business acumen and technical understanding. Position requires approximately 25-40% travel.

Responsibilities

  • Be an evangelist for SUSE products and solutions
  • Work directly with other members of the Technical Enablement and Sales Enablement teams to execute enablement programs
  • Work closely with solutions marketing, product management and technical training teams to turn market positioning, messaging and technical training into technical sales-specific content
  • Create solution focused enablement resources with product-specific and open source market information
  • Create on demand resources ranging from overview cards to demos, podcasts and videos
  • Instruct partners and employees in face to face trainings
  • Host webcasts for partners and employees
  • Approximately 25-40% travel required, some international

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree required (or applicable experience)
  • Solid understanding and experience with SUSE products (preferred) and/or other open source technologies, including Linux, OpenStack Cloud, Ceph, Kubernetes, SaltStack and others
  • Exceptional written and verbal English communications skills
  • Strong presentation and classroom management skills
  • Proven ability to work independently
  • Experience of working with vendor channel partners
  • Experience working with a variety of inter-departmental and international stakeholders
  • Knowledge of other languages a plus
  • Previous experience in the high-tech industry required
  • Prior technical sales experience highly desired
  • Social media experience a plus
  • On camera experience a plus
  • Video creation and editing a plus
